Program requirements

The requirements for running SiSoft Sandra are:

• x86 compatible computer
• 486DX-33MHz (Pentium MMX 200 or better recommended)
• 8MB RAM (32MB or more recommended)
• 200MB hard disk (4GB or larger recommended)
• 1MB graphics card (800x600 at 256 colours or better)
• Microsoft Windows 95 or later
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or later (required)

Extras for a better Sandra:

• Windows 98 or later
• CPU with support for MMX, 3DNow! & SSE (Streaming SIMD)
• Plug-and-Play BIOS version 1.00a or newer
• APM (Advanced Power Management) BIOS 1.02 or newer
• ACPI (Advanced Configuration Power Interface) 1.00 or newer
• Intel SMBus (System Management Bus) 1.00 or newer
• System Monitoring chip (temperature, fans, voltages, currents, etc.)
• DIMM SDRAMs with SPD EEPROM PC100 or faster
• DMI (Desktop Management Interface) SMBIOS 2.3 or newer
• PCI 2.10 / AGP BIOS interface or newer
• Modem (33.6K or faster)
• Internet connection
• IPX/SPX, NetBIOS and/or TCP/IP protocols
• Printer and/or Fax (MS-Fax at Work)
• E-Mail client installed (MS-Exchange)
• A VESA Video BIOS 3.00 or newer & VBE (PM, AF, AI, DDC, GC) 1.00 or newer
• 8MB video card (1024x768 at 24/32-bit colour depth) or better
• DirectX 6.1 video/sound/input drivers or later
• Sound Card & DirectSound drivers
• A CD-ROM drive 4x (32x recommended), DVD 2x or better
• Joystick (Z-axis preferred)
• MS-Plus! Pack or IE 4.00 or later

Cool extras:

• 3D video card or add-on
• Network (LAN/WAN) 10Mbps or better

Note: You don't have to have all this. But, generally the more you have the better. Most new computers have all this stuff anyway and you can get the software.

If you update your software or hardware you'll notice new information that you did not see before. Unlike other programs, Sandra only shows you available information so make sure you have the latest stuff.
